Grand Dam Arts Center

The Portland Community Arts Council has created an ARTS CENTER! Many, many thanks to the dozens of people who helped make this dream a reality!

Through a grant from the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs and partnerships with the City of Portland and a number of area groups, the PCAC has created the "Grand Dam Arts Center" at the site of the Portland hydroelectric plant.

The progress so far is amazing, and we are finally scheduling classes! Watch this site for class schedules -- the list is updated monthly.

We currently offer art and music workshops, lessons, and classes. The GDAC has also hosted a number of quilting bees for the Building Bridges initiative.

In the future, we intend to offer small, "unplugged" music recitals, pottery, photography, and much more--an arts center that the entire region can call home! Are you a teacher?
